A named program still needs a personal fit check

The Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate page describes data cleaning, analysis, visualization, and communication, including spreadsheets, SQL, Python, and Tableau. These are the catalog descriptions we reviewed on September 14, 2026; they do not prove what your chosen enrollment includes or how much feedback you receive.

The current program FAQ explicitly says it teaches Python and does not cover R. That answer was checked September 14, 2026; R-related tags elsewhere on the page should not override it. Confirm the individual-course syllabus and your enrollment version before buying for a specific language or tool.

Use this original four-row dataset

The exercise uses fictional sales records, not employer data, customer data, or a copied course assessment. Row A is North with amount 10; row B is South with amount 20; row C is North with a blank amount; row D is South with amount 40. Amounts are unitless exercise values. A blank means unknown, not zero.

The download also includes planning and expected-result rows. Before calculating, filter record_type to SYNTHETIC INPUT; exactly four rows should remain. Use only those rows as the sales dataset, not the worksheet or answer rows.

Your question is deliberately narrow: what is the total of recorded amounts, how many amounts are known, and what cannot be concluded? Keep the original rows and your transformation decisions so another reader can reproduce your answer.

Check the result before drawing a chart

There are four rows, three known amounts, and one missing amount. The recorded-amount total is 70. The mean among known amounts is 70 divided by 3, approximately 23.33. The recorded regional totals are North 10 and South 60. Neither the missing North sale nor the true total of all four sales is known.

Replacing the blank with zero would change the mean to 17.5 and silently add an assumption. The worksheet gives these expected arithmetic results so you can detect that error. These are worked calculations from invented inputs, not observations from a completed Coursera course or a business dataset.

  • Preserve row C and label its amount unknown.
  • Confirm 10 + 20 + 40 = 70 with an independent calculation.
  • Label any chart as recorded amounts only and show the missing-value count.
  • Write a limitation: these four invented rows cannot establish real regional performance.

Map the missing skill to instruction

You do not need to use every named tool to finish this exercise. Start in a tool you already have and identify where you stop. If the barrier is interpreting missing values, buying more software is not the first step. If you need structured instruction, inspect the specific course that teaches the missing operation.

Turn the attempt into a purchase decision

The worksheet separates expected example outputs from your own attempt and evidence. Try the exercise before enrolling, then record one concrete gap. After instruction, use different fictional inputs to check that you can transfer the method rather than copy the answer.

Before paying, verify the exact program route, subscription inclusion, current charge, renewal terms, prerequisites, and practice access. A successful tiny exercise does not substitute for the program or predict employment; a certificate alone does not establish independent ability. The useful decision is whether the offering supplies support you currently need.
